Leprechaun Traps

We are learning about:

• number families
• missing addends
• adding three addends
• story problems
• Mo Willems as our mentor author 
• editing and adding to our writing
• reviewing reading strategies to make us stronger readers
• writing in response to reading
• solids, liquids, and gases

Some activities we did:

• began a new spelling program with Mrs. Fitzgerald called Words Their Way; this program will begin next week
• began writing our own books based on Mo Willems' style of writing and illustrating
• read LOTS of  Mo Willems books

Upcoming Events

March 24         We will begin our new spelling program called Words Their Way

March 28          Read Across America Day and The Mad Scientist; you can dress up as your favorite book                                      character or wear your pajamas
April 2              Trip to the Portsmouth Music Hall
April 9 and 16  Early Release Parent /Teacher Conferences
April 16            Classroom Musical "Character Matters" at 6:30 in the cafeteria
