Book Orders, Photos and Updates



Book Orders went home last week.  If you would like to order some books, here is the direct link that will take you to our site.  Our class get points for free books.  Please place your order by this Friday, September 21st.

Below are photos of a getting to know you game.  We practiced our initials and focused on our first, middle, and last names last week.  Your child may want you to tell him/her the story behind their first and last name.


Brown Bag Shares will begin tomorrow.  Mrs. Coad and I shared our bags with the students last week.  Ask your child to tell you some things they learned about each of us.

Field Trip to Coppal House Farm is on Tuesday, October 23rd.  All are welcome to chaperone.


Here's just a glimpse on what we've been working on:

Practiced being a reading partner
Showcased our reading with our partner by doing a Readers' Theater with Elephant and Piggie books.
Played two math games, "Lobster Squeeze" and "The Dot Game"
Reviewed tally marks and recorded data using them
Caught up on all the Mystery Doug clips from August.  Now we will watch one a week to participate in the voting of upcoming episodes.

3)Tell me the three things you had in common with your new friend.
4) How will your name tag at school help you as a learning tool?
5)What was our first Fire Drill practice like?

Our Seesaw accounts are almost ready.  You will receive a QR Code to activate your child's account soon.  You will have access to your child's Kindergarten portfolio as well by scrolling down on the current posts, just like on Facebook.

Our new classroom Chromebooks are not touch screen as originally planned.  However, they are brand new and will be used with or without a mouse depending upon your child's preference.  These will be introduced to the students soon!

Your child has a set of  personal headphones to use at school.  However, if your child has a small pair they like better at home, they may bring them in to keep and use at school for the year.

If you have paper bags with handles such as the ones from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, we'd love you to donate them to our classroom.  Thank you in advance!
