Important Dates

1. Field Trip to Portsmouth Music Hall is this Wednesday, November 19th to see the play Skippyjon Jones.  Please have your child eat a hearty breakfast as we will not have time for a snack.

2. Class Thanksgiving Feast-November 25th in the afternoon.  We will not need volunteers for this.
Please send in $1.00 by Friday, Nov. 21st to help purchase ingredients to prepare for this small, festive feast.
We could use a few volunteers to help us prep for this feast on Nov. 24th from 10:15-11:45.  Please email me if you are available.

3. Thanksgiving break - 11/26 - 11/30

4. Scholastic Book Fair will be open in our library from December 2nd-5th until 5:00 each day and on December 6th from 8 to 11. Our class preview shopping date and time is Tuesday, December 2nd at 9:10.  You are welcome to join us if you would like to help your child shop for books. 

5. PUBLISHING PARTY (Pigeon Party) to celebrate our Mo Willems inspired stories on Wednesday, December 10th from 8:00-8:25.  (More details coming soon.)  Everyone is welcome!

6. EARLY RELEASE on December 17th.  The students will be dismissed at 12:50.

7. Holiday Hike (a first grade tradition inspired by the book The Night Tree) is on Friday, December 19th at 1:40 or in case of inclement weather Monday, December 22nd at 1:40.  All families are welcome to attend.  More information will be sent home in December.

More photos of our Mystery Readers will be posted this week along with our latest science experiment called Walking Water!  Your child may have told you that we have begun to have student Mystery Readers too!  Mrs. Lawton will email you the week before you or your child are due to read, so that you may prepare your story and email me five clues.  She will receive this mystery schedule this week.  I am not telling the students when they are scheduled in order to keep it a surprise!
