More Brown Bag Shares, Elephant and Piggie, Class Letters

Thank you for coming to Curriculum Night.  It was so wonderful to see all of you there!  Please refer to the informational packet inside the blue folder that you received that night to reference this year.  Your child can use the Number Grid in there to use during any math homework including IXL or iReady practice.  There are also 175 sight words your child will learn this year in school as they enhance their reading skills. Also, the 35 sight words will be practiced to spell by memory this year.

We have been having so much fun studying the author/illustrator Mo Willems during Reader's and Writer's Workshop and for our read aloud.  We are learning about Mo Willem's style of writing and illustrating.  Ask your child some of the things Mo Willems does to make his characters come to life.

To promote school talk:

  • Tell me the name of the Pigeon book you are writing.
  • What did you do during Free Choice Friday?
  • How did you make your Fall tree?
  • Can you tell me a number story while you show me how to hop forward and backward on a number line?
  • Can you show me how to step to the left and to the right?
  • What is perseverance?
