We explored the sun's strong rays by doing this science experiment on our classroom windows.

The students were introduced to the series Mr. Putter and Tabby by Cynthia Rylant.  They are getting to know the main characters and will act out the dialogue in these stories next week.  You may want to check out this series from the Wiggin Memorial Library this summer.

Some things we have been practicing:
  • 3 digit addition
  • adding tens and ones
  • telling time to the hour and half hour
  • counting pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters and have begun to count back change
  • ordering numbers least to greatest
Some activities we have done:
  • wrote a persuasive letter to convince me of a friend he/she would like to sit next to
  • learned the hand clapping game: "Quack Diddly Oso"
  • enjoyed time with the Seals in our classroom
  • painted beautiful designs on paper to be used later for collaging notecards
  • learned about Memorial Day
