Week of May 13th-May17th

We made oragami fortune tellers to help us spell the last few required First Grade sight words! Have your child use this paper game at home to practice his/her spelling words. If your child mastered the required 35 words, he/she chose other words to practice!  The students will be retested in June again!  We will not have any more spelling tests for the year except for this final sight word test.

If you have not had the chance to be a Mystery Reader, but would like to read to us, please let me know which date and time your are available. 

Most of the children are not taking home books because they are able to easily access 'just right' books at home or at the local library.  Please continue to have your child read at least ten minutes a day even though they may not be bringing home classroom books. 

Remember to also practice addition and subtraction facts to ten at home and throughout the summer as well. If the Xtra math is not working for your child, flash cards still work well too.  You can also practice in the car by asking facts or telling story problems.  

We can't believe there are only 24 days left this school year!
