Some things we did this past week:
- Practiced solving tricky words by having good reading habits
- Made our small moments writing folders
- Worked on iReady during math and finished the initial assessment
- Built our boats
Some things to ask your child to promote school talk:
- Can you tell me about Stretchy the Snake?
- Who is Eagle Eyes?
- Who is Lips the Fish?
- Can you tell me a few facts/equations that equal 10?
- Count by 5's. Now try it from the number 45, then 75, etc.
- What's the best way to add two numbers together?
Important Dates:
- FIELD TRIP to Coppal House Farm October 17th-AM only
- Please pack a snack and drink from home
- First Grade Fall Festival will be on October 31st: If you would like to volunteer to help us from 9-11:40, that would be great! Please send me an email to let me know.
We had so much fun reading our Pigeon stories. We hope you enjoyed having your child read their story to you. We all had a chance to read our story to our classmates. The students' reading voices really brought their books to life!
As part of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activity the students worked with a partner to build either Goldilocks' Bed or Bear's bed. We read a few versions of the original story Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Here is a photo of their designs.
