Important Dates

Hello Eveyone!  I hope you had a wonderful week with your children!

We will be very busy this coming week practicing our musical, Friendly Neigborhood Helpers on the stage and working on publishing our class book titled Our Families.  Please be on the lookout for information in the blue folder explaining how to purchase a copy of this hard covered book.  If you do not wish to purchase the book, please check the box and return it to school.  All forms must signed and returned to school regardless if you are ordering a book or not in order for the company to publish our book.

Some things we did before vacation:
  • Completed our Writing Reviews.  I hope you were able to have your child share their writing with you.
  • Learned about why animals come back after migration
  • Jump for Heart
  • Earth Day Activities: Watched a raptor show, simulated an oil spill and how to clean it up, and participated in a water walk in which we learned how tough it is to carry water the way kids in Burkina Faso have to.  Ask your child what they learned!

Important Dates:
  • Mark your calendars! First Grade presents... FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD HELPERS on Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30 pm on the cafeteria stage.
  • Thursday, May 31st:  Wiggin Memorial Library presents to our first graders about their summer reading program

    • On Tuesday, June 12th (am only) all first grade students will hike to Stratham Hill Park to celebrate a great year together.  We would love for  you to stop by the park to spend some time with us.  Specifics of the field trip will be on the permission slip which will be sent home soon.
